Pregnant woman murdered in Kinross

Police are seeking Sifiso Khumalo, who resides in the Marikana informal settlement in Kinross, as they believe he may assist in the ongoing investigation.

Police in Kinross were alerted to a gruesome scene at Extension 21 today [May 23].

They found the body of a 34-year-old woman lying in a pool of blood, with visible blood stains on the walls.

Police spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane, said in a media statement the victim had sustained a stab wound to the chest and visible head injuries, believed to have been caused by bricks.

She was certified dead at the scene by Emergency Medical Services.

A clinic card found nearby confirmed that the woman was six months pregnant.

Anyone with information that can help locate him is urged to contact the investigating officer Constable Joana Tau on 072 781 0131, or report anonymously through Crime Stop at 08600 10111 or via the MYSAPS APP.

The acting provincial commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi, strongly condemned the violent crime and assured the public the case is receiving urgent attention.
