Another two police officers arrested in eMbalenhle

They will appear in court alongside three others who were arrested in November in connection with Mkhapheni Mbatha's murder.

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) has today, January 29, arrested another two eMbalenhle police officers in connection with the murder of Mkhapheni Mbatha in Mandela Section in October last year.

He was allegedly accused of selling drugs.

Mbatha was declared dead on his arrival at the Extension 4 clinic.

Three police officers including a police reservist were arrested and then released on bail.

The two officers arrested today will join the others in the court dock soon to face nine charges, including murder, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and defeating the ends of justice.
