Equipment at parks in Standerton to be repaired

There are 12 parks in Kosmospark, Florapark and Stanfield Hill of which only three are viable.

The DA is intent on repairing and refurbishing obsolete equipment in parks in Standerton.

According to Alberto Franco, councillor in Ward 8, the vandalised playground equipment has become scrap metal.

“It is not acceptable,” Franco said.

“More than a third have been vandalised.”

There are 12 parks in Kosmospark, Florapark and Stanfield Hill of which only three are viable.

Lekwa Municipality has to finalise seasonal programmes for the department of parks and gardens.

These programmes will include the cutting of trees and cleaning of storm-water drains.
