The initiative aims to promptly identify and repair water leaks to ensure that every drop of water is conserved and unnecessary losses are minimised.

The Executive Mayor of Lekwa Local Municipality, Sifiso Mngemezulu, is spearheading the municipality’s Every Drop Counts, War on Water Leaks programme aimed at reducing water losses across the municipal water network.

According to the municipality, the initiative aims to promptly identify and repair water leaks to ensure that every drop of water is conserved and unnecessary losses are minimised.

Mngemezulu said the programme demonstrates the municipality’s commitment to addressing water leaks and reducing water losses within the reticulation network.

He added that preserving water resources requires a collective effort and called on residents to report water leaks as soon as they are detected.

“The community plays a vital role in safeguarding the municipality’s water resources. We encourage residents to report leaks promptly so that they can be attended to without delay,” said Mngemezulu.
