Different organisations and companies celebrate Mandela Day in the Govan Mbeki municipal area
Volunteers clean up taxi ranks.

The office of the Chief Whip of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature, together with the Govan Mbeki Municipality led the International Mandela Day Celebration at the Secunda and eMbalenhle taxi ranks on Monday, July 18.
Nhlakanipho Zuma, mayor, and the Legislature Chief Whip, Fidel Mlombo, were joined by various stakeholders in a cleaning awareness campaign by collecting litter at the taxi ranks with aim of promoting a culture of social partnerships between government and its citizens.
Zuma said taxi ranks belong to the municipality and need to be taken care of.
Southey contractors celebrated Mandela day by planting grass on the sports field for the Grade R class at Vukuzithathe Primary School in eMbalenhle, while the farm residents in Charl Cilliers and Kinross received wheelbarrow water cans from TASASA to help farm dwellers face water challenges.
