Learners benefit from Indawo Yosizo Foundation’s school backpack drive
The school backpack drive aims to promote confidence in the classroom and help learners focus better on their school work.
eMZINONI – “No child should carry their future in a plastic bag.”
These were the words of Zanele Gwebu, the founder of the Indawo Yosizo Foundation.
The foundation, in partnership with SCM Industries and SCZ Zondo Transport, distributed 94 school bags, 23 pairs of school shoes, toothbrushes and sanitary pads to disadvantaged primary school learners in the township of Bethal.
The school backpack drive aims to promote confidence in the classroom and help learners to focus better on their school work and in a dignified way.

The drive was supported by Bethal’s Circuit manager, Lydia Malaza, who encouraged the learners to stay in school throughout the year so that they achieve their goals and have confidence.
Also in support of the drive were Dr Sbusiso Zondo, Sifiso Mthimunye of SCM Industries, the MMC of Corporate Service, Thandi Mtsweni and councillor Thabisile Mazibuko.
“We appreciate everyone who supported and donated to the school backpack drive. We believe that it takes one word to change the lives of many – #Ngiyafisa (I wish),” concluded Gwebu.
