Botleng Secondary School receives benches

At a ceremony on March 7, 60 school benches that can seat two learners each were given to Botleng Secondary School.

The learners of Botleng Secondary School sat on empty paint tins when being taught because there were not enough benches for everyone to have proper seating.

When the problem was brought to the attention of Q4 Fuel in Delmas, they decided to make a plan.

At a ceremony on March 7, 60 school benches that can seat two learners each were handed over to Botleng Secondary School.

Those at the handover ceremony included Ian Bester, a representative of Q4 Fuel, Stephens Ngomo, the chairperson of the school, David Mollo, the headmaster, and Hendrey Mbalekwa, the speaker for the Victor Khanye Local Municipality.

“The learners were humbled by the donation and sang in beautiful harmony to thank us,” said Elismarie Botha from Q4 Fuel.

Diikgetse Sepenyane, better known as ‘Slash’ in the community of Delmas, thanked Q4 Fuel for partnering with the educators on behalf of Botleng Secondary School.

“This is a wonderful gift that does not come that often,” said Sepenyane.
