Cullinan hosts craft distillers and brewers fair

Attendees of the Cullinan Groot Gat Fair could sample a variety of craft and boutique gins, beers, brandy, vodka and liqueurs.

The Cullinan Groot Gat Craft Distillers & Brewers Fair took place on April 1 and 2 at the Cullinan Library Park.

People came from far and wide to attend this annual fair. In total, there were around 108 exhibitors, out of which 25 were craft distillers and brewers and they sold almost 1 000 tickets.

Attendees could sample a variety of craft and boutique gins, beers, brandy, vodka and liqueurs that are not commercially available and some more experimental and innovative varieties, as well as learn about the history and production of drinks. Craft and artisan-type cheeses and breads, olives and sauces were also available to tantalise fair-goers’ taste buds.

There were also plenty of food stalls and live music performances by AJ Devos and Fanus Pienaar to keep festival-goers entertained, making for a lively and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the weekend.

Speaking about the success of the festival, organiser Danie Booyens said, “We are delighted to see so many people celebrate their love of craft liquors and foods. It was an incredible weekend and we can’t wait to do it all again next year!”
