Attend festival in Trichardt to support cancer patient
The festival on April 27 promises to entertain the family.
The friends of Eugene Jacobs (46), who was diagnosed with oesophagal cancer in December 2021, are organising the Eugene Lifestyle Festival for him on April 27.
The festival will start at 09:00 and continue until late. It will take place at Rustic Ranch in Trichardt, the old Mynland venue.
Various artists, including Shoneill and Pilgrim South, will entertain the audience. Entry fees are R50 a vehicle, and booking a stall on the day will cost you R100.
There will be entertainment for the kids and a potjiekos competition. The well-known Tannie Poppie from the TV series Kokkedoor, will be one of the judges for the competition.
All proceeds go toward Jacobs’ treatment. Jacobs and his wife, Lenie, decided he would go for alternative treatment rather than chemotherapy.
The specific foods and vitamins he has to take with the alternative treatment are expensive and, unfortunately, Jacobs’ medical aid does not cover alternative treatment.
He also has to regularly see a doctor in Gauteng, and Jacobs’ treatment until the end of this year will cost the family about R500 000.
The couple has three sons, twins Franco and Herman (12) and Eduard (seven).
