Mthethwa said a man from eMbalenhle opened a fraud case after his money was withdrawn from his bank account without his consent.
Mthethwa said the victim alleges that he got a message from his Facebook page from an unknown user who asked him to invest in a certain scheme and he was given an account where he can deposit the money and he will get his profit within 48 hours.
The victim transferred R500 to that account. After a few hours, an amount of R4 500 was withdrawn from his account and again, R750 was also withdrawn.
Mthethwa said the victim continued to communicate with the page user who keep promising that the victim will get his money but ended up not responding and fraud case was opened and the suspect is unknown.
