Children’s home in Bronkhorstspruit gets R10k after planking challenge

Anton Nel, the owner of Anton’s Boxing Fitness Gym in Bronkhorstspruit, recently held a planking challenge to raise funds for the Loerie Youth Centre.
The event aimed to promote fitness while supporting a worthy cause and raised R10 000.
Nel came up with the idea of a planking challenge, and one of the parents of a boxer took the initiative to donate money to the Loerie Youth Centre for the longest plank.
This challenge exploded into a fundraiser in a matter of four hours. Nel is grateful to all who participated in the challenge and contributed to the fundraising efforts.
The Loerie Youth Centre is a children’s home in Bronkhortspruit that accommodates almost 40 underprivileged children.

These children and students are totally dependent on the Loerie Trust for their needs.
The Loerie Youth Centre Trust was established in April 2000 by eight businessmen and women who saw the need to provide a stable, secure haven for children.
The non-profit institution is solely the responsibility of the trustees. They do not receive any subsidy from the State.
Maintaining the Loerie children’s home requires phenomenal amounts and includes monthly rent, medical expenses from time to time, daily transport and salaries, to name a few.
