Sasol donates school uniforms to school near Standerton

Sasol partnered with several stakeholders, such as Standerton Correctional Services, who donated additional shoes to the school.

Sasol donated uniforms to Holmdene Secondary School learners on April 25.

According to a recent statement by Sasol, the donation is part of an initiative to give back to society and support learners.

The school is within the Sasol pipeline area, and Sasol actively supports programmes aimed at uplifting disadvantaged schools and learners through various education-support initiatives.

The donated items included shoes, shirts and trousers.

The Ikusaselihle Career Guidance NPO did a career choice talk for the learners and guided them to choose the correct subjects.

The learners were warned about the dangers of getting involved in criminal activities, with Correctional Services bringing in a law offender to speak about the consequences of crime.

Sasol employees get 40 hours of paid leave for volunteer work annually. This encourages the spirit of giving back.

The Sasol for Good initiative lets employees get involved in humanitarian support in their communities by volunteering their time, skills and resources through the company and employee-initiated social development causes.

The statement concluded by saying Sasol took a holistic approach to its investment in education and offered support to learners from Early Childhood Development Centres to higher education.
