Konanani chosen as best nurse at Mediclinic Highveld
Hospital recognised their nurses’ hard work.
Mediclinic Highveld celebrated International Nurses Day on May 12 and awarded their nurses for their hard work.
It was also Mediclinic’s 40th anniversary, and the theme for Nurses Day was ‘Care goes further than you think’.
Konanani Rakuambo, a professional nurse and midwife, won the Nursing Excellence Award. Her colleagues nominated her in recognition of her selfless and exceptional work.
Rakuambo has worked at Mediclinic Highveld for two years and is known for her compassion, loyalty, dedication, knowledge, and ability to care and lead by example.
Heinrich Liebenberg, the hospital manager, thanked each nurse who chose the career of caring for others.

“We congratulate the nominees identified by their colleagues for their outstanding expertise and care,” said Liebenberg.
“Every patient has a family and circle of friends or colleagues who value them and trust us to deliver excellence and expertise to the individual.
“By caring for our patients, our nurses ensure that each patient can return home to their role as mother, father, sibling, colleague or friend.”
According to a Gallup survey last year, nursing was regarded globally as one of the most trusted professions for more than 20 years, followed by doctors and pharmacists.
