Golfers swing for a good cause in Secunda
Money raised during the Money Gamers Golf Club charity event, held at Graceland Hotel, Casino and Country Club on May 20, will go towards three beneficiaries.
Golfers took to Graceland Hotel, Casino and Country Club greens to compete in a charitable event held for Money Gamers Golf Club on May 20.
The Money Gamers Golf Club is a social group of golfers that predominantly originates from Mpumalanga,
Secunda and Graceland Country Club was formed initially for the arrangement of golf games by colleagues and friends.
Over the years, there have been many attempts of members to give back by raising funds to support various charitable endeavours.
About 150 players competed in the day’s event, of which three charities will benefit. One of the beneficiaries is the Junior Golfer’s Development Academy, with the other two to be announced.
The winners of the better ball competition were Shimmy Skhombane and Duke Mophunye of Robust Construction, ending with 52 points.
Second was Daniel Nyathela and Bafana Mbaba with 50 points on a count out. In third place was Peter Lephoto and Slender Ndlela with 50 points.
