Cullinan’s Taekwondo stars graded
The grading encompassed not only the mastery of physical prowess, but also demanded unwavering fitness, endurance, and accuracy in executing board-breaking manoeuvres using various hand and foot techniques.
The local Taekwondo Club, ATC Cullinan, hosted its second grading of the year at the Cullinan Community Sports Centre on May 13.
SBM Manie Naudé, a fourth-dan black belt, facilitated the grading. Participating athletes faced a series of rigorous tests that pushed their limits beyond foot and hand techniques.
The grading required not only the mastery of physical prowess, but also demanded unwavering fitness, endurance, and accuracy in executing board-breaking manoeuvres using various hand and foot techniques.
The grading syllabus included free sparring matches, where each belt level showcased their learning journey.
An integral aspect of the syllabus focused on self-defence. It empowers students to safeguard themselves not just in the ring, but also in real-life self-defence scenarios.
Every athlete who embraced the challenge triumphed. They ascended to new ranks in kup (degree). One exceptional individual, Gerhard Ziervogel, graded from the eighth kup to the ninth kup with a high pass.
Naudé commended the overall standard of the participants and expressed his gratitude to Justin Collett for his diligent preparation, which laid the foundation for their success.
With unwavering determination, ATC Cullinan now sets its sights on two tournaments. First on the agenda was the Arnold Classic at the Ruimsig Stadium in Roodepoort on May 20.
The local Tiny Tigers and Avengers Tournament will be at the Cullinan Sports Centre on July 1.
As the club intensifies their training they aim to showcase its unparalleled skills and unyielding spirit in these upcoming battles.
