WATCH: Secunda’s Pilgrim South releases first music video

Local rock band counts 2023 as their best year.

This year has proven to be the one for local rock band Pilgrim South.

After years of hard work, dedication and performing, Pilgrim South walked away with the accolade as best live rock band newcomer at the 2023 SA Afri-Indie Music Awards in April.

The band has released their first-ever music video for their hit song Stone People Walking. The music video was released on July 7.

The band’s lead guitarist, Jacques Koen said, “Making the Stone People Walking music video was a very fulfilling and exciting journey. We have been working towards a music video for quite some time, and to make it happen is wonderful.

“We played around with some ideas and researched to find the perfect visual to fit the theme. It was a true DIY project, and it is amazing what you can accomplish with some ingenuity, a can-do attitude, creative ideas and teamwork.”

Pilgrim South has sent their next single, The Wolf, in for mixing and mastering and is planning an animation video to go with it.

Pilgrim South will also be performing live on July 22 at Eish!! Restaurant with Jammy Bunz and Gideon Wind.

The show will begin at 15:00.
