Divers recover body in eMbalenhle river
An inquest docket was opened by the police after the discovery of a body in a river in Ext18, eMbalenhle.
The Delta1 Rescue Diving team retrieved the body of a man, about 40 years old, from the Kleinspruit River in eMbalenhle Ext18 on July 23.
Delta1 responded to a call at about 15:30 after they received a report of a body floating in the river.
They recovered the body through surface recovery.
According to the information received, the man was missing for three weeks before he was discovered, and a family member identified him.
However, the police had no information that the man was missing or identified by a family member.
Police said the retrieved body wore a black jacket, takkies and trousers. There were visible injuries on his forehead and an opening on his neck and chin.
The body was taken to Evander Pathology. The police opened an inquest docket.
