GS College hosts career exhibition

Gert Sibande TVET College held a hospitality career expo on July 26. Dignitaries and guests arrived at the Standerton Campus in Kruger Street.
Peer educators Siyabonga Ngwenyama, Nelly Masiteng, Sinechembe Zungu and Deneo Morajane manned the gate.
The programme director, William Mphuti, welcomed attendees in the tent next to the hall and guests from all walks of life, relevant to students at the college, were present.

These included representatives from government, universities, colleges and stakeholders, as well as the council and SRC.
Dr Amratlal Beeka addressed the audience on behalf of the council before the principal, Molifi Mabe’s turn.
The college in Standerton hosted the event with an exhibition aimed at changing the lives of the students, as well as empowering them.

The opinion was shared that students, regardless of their economic background, will always be entrusted with the best lecturers and resources.
A quick look at the hall showed tables filled with delicacies. The in-house hospitality career exhibition also touched on the unemployment rate in South Africa and celebrated the legacy of Nelson Mandela.
Statistics South Africa said on May 16, the unemployment rate was slightly up by 0.2 of a percentage point from 32.7% in the fourth quarter of 2022 to 32.9% in the first quarter of 2023.
