Cameron McAdam from Delmas loses battle against cancer
According to McAdams’ family, his passions extended beyond his roles as a loving husband, devoted father and adoring grandfather.
Cameron Ross McAdam passed away aged 56 in the early morning of September 23, surrounded by his wife and sons.
He was diagnosed with phase four cancer about two-and-a-half years ago, and even though doctors gave him six months to live, McAdam lived his life to the fullest for another two years.
In the heart of the Delmas community, McAdam was a cherished figure known for his unwavering dedication to his family and friends. He was also known for combatting crime.
McAdam was known for his dedication to his security camera operation, CamFX, and his membership in the Valke Neighbourhood Watch for many years.
According to McAdams’ family, his passions extended beyond his roles as a loving husband, devoted father and adoring grandfather. McAdam found joy in the thrill of off-roading adventures and the camaraderie of shooting competitions.
However, his greatest joy was the simple moments spent with his children and grandson, where love and laughter filled every second.
“As we reflect on his remarkable life, we remember not only the roles he held but also the enduring legacy of love and connection he leaves behind.”
McAdam’s memorial service was on October 2 at the Lewende Woord in Delmas, and Pastor Marius van Staden conducted the service.
Many of his closest friends and confidants paid their respects, as well as his trio of special friends, Karl Seebach, Carel Botha and Carl Behmer.
McAdam leaves behind his beloved wife, Leda Antonopoulos, his four sons, two daughters-in-law and his grandson.
“You will be missed by all, Engelsman. Rest in peace, Hotel 29. Over and out,” said Botha, the chairperson of Valke Neighbourhood Watch.
