Gender-based violence (GBV) office established in Bronkhorstspruit
Bronkhorstspruit businesses and individuals helped the CPF with donations to equip the offices.
The new veterinary (VET) and gender-based violence (GBV) offices at the Bronkhorstspruit Police Station received donations from the CPF members on November 3.
The office was initially only supplied with a desk, chair, four-drawer cabinets, computer, printer, small fridge and a microwave.
With the assistance of Bronkhorstspruit businesses and individuals, the CPF provided a broom, two multi plugs, a carpet, a four-door cabinet, plates, cups and spoons, toys and art material to the value of R5 000, scatter cushions, two boxes of toys, 109 bottles of water, soap, washcloths and a two-seater sofa.
These were delivered to the offices on November 8.
Erna Visser, a resident of Bronkhorstspruit, was introduced to the office. She supplied four dolls for traumatised children.
The children can use these dolls to indicate where they were hurt or abused without speaking.
Visser will also provide a few teddy bears. She also agreed to help teach homeless people from Sizanani how to make these teddy bears.
The CPF thanked their sponsors.
