Members of the Dra Mekaar group got together at the NG Kerk Gemeente – Goedehoop on November 8 for their last monthly gathering of this year.
Pastor Diederich Kleynhans opened the year-end event with scripture reading and prayer. A special thanks went out to all the members who contributed towards the Christmas gift bags made for children placed in a safe home in Senekal.
The gift bags will be delivered to the home on November 17. Members who celebrated birthdays in October and November received birthday wishes.
They reminded members to provide suggestions about next year’s outings on the calendar. They welcomed members who went to De Voetpadkloof after a week-long holiday.
All had plenty of fun, swimming, and a safari trip.
The local musician and SA Country Music Association/Foundation’s Male Artist of the Year award winner, Henco du Toit, performed oldies and some of his original songs for the members who sang, clapped, and danced along.
The members also enjoyed a meal of cold meats and a variety of salads and ended off on a sweet note with dessert.
The next group meeting will be on January 24, 2024.
