Bethal police search for suspect involved in house robbery and rape
While the occupants were being robbed, the eldest daughter was taken outside and raped by the suspect matching the facial composition
Police have released a facial composition of a suspect who was involved in an armed robbery case that happened in Kleynhans Street in Bethal at about 23:00 on December 30.
They are asking the public to assist with any information that can lead to the robber’s arrest.
According to Sergeant Thomas Mogadime, media spokesperson for Bethal police, five armed men broke into the house while the occupants of the house were sleeping.
“The occupants were awakened, threatened and tied up. The robbers demanded bank cards with PIN numbers.
“While the occupants were being robbed, the eldest daughter was taken outside by the suspect matching the facial composition.
“He raped her before they fled the scene with money, cellphones, electrical appliances and the family vehicle, which was later recovered,” said Mogadime.
After the incident police arranged with the facial identification compiler, Sergeant Leon Lintnaar at the Local Criminal Record Centre, within the SAPS to compile the suspect’s facial identification to assist in tracing one of the suspects.
