Load-shedding affects water supply in Lekwa

The Lekwa Municipality is reminding residents community that during stage 4 and 6 Eskom load-shedding which sometimes takes four hours at a time, the water supply to the community is interrupted.

Load-shedding has an impact on the pumping of water, the water treatment plant depends on the availability of electricity.

Two raw water pumping units have been taken out for repairs which also contribute to water shortage.

It takes some time for the water to fill up the pipelines and reservoirs when electricity is restored.

The municipality has dispatched water tankers to deliver water to residents.

Ward 10 councillor Wilma Venter accompanied the tanker in her ward today, February 12.
