Parkrun in Standerton attracts 82 participants

Eight runners achieved new personal best times, and they welcomed 10 newcomers.

The Standerton River Park parkrun celebrated another successful event on January 25.

This event attracted 82 participants, of whom eight set new personal best times, and 10 joined the run for the first time.

Pieter Jansen van Vuuren achieved a personal best of 23:05, followed by Waldemar Heinz, who improved his time to 24:44.

Bongane Mpokane completed the track first at 17:56.Timothy Hoop followed shortly after (21:59).

Eugene Viljoen completed the run at 25:21, followed by Andiswamahlubi Hadebe (26:15), William Abrahams (26:15), Parth Jayram (26:19) and Pieter Grobbelaar (27:07).

Parkrun welcomed Mandla Mathaba (27:44) and Ruben Hohls (28:07) as first timers.

Koos Grobler celebrated his 50th milestone run.

The volunteers who made this event possible are Daniel Wright, Frans Vermaak, Jennifer Naidoo, Jesse Hill, Johannes Vosloo, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Noluthando Zweni, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Strini Naidoo, Sylvy Moodley and Zeldine Strydom.
