Brink triumphs at Standerton Golf Club Men’s Open

Ardent golfers competed in the Standerton Golf Club men's Open on March 28.

Golfing talent shone bright on March 28 as Standerton Golf Club hosted its highly anticipated Men’s Division Club Open.

A field of 32 golfers from across the region, including representatives from Walker Park, Graceland, Bethal, Middelburg, Witbank and as far afield as Margate, Newcastle and Monks Cowl, descended on the scenic 18-hole course to vie for the title.

The tournament was a showcase of top-tier regional golf, with the course’s “top-notch” conditions providing a fitting backdrop for the high-calibre play.

Damian Brink successfully defended his home turf, delivering a stellar performance to be crowned the overall winner with a total score of 143.

He was followed closely by Walker Park’s Matt Krause (147), while Middelburg’s Steve Smit secured the third-place spot on a count-out after finishing with 148.
