Sasol Ringball teams wrap up the league games in Secunda

With the league season now concluded, attention shifted to the MNRD trials.

The final Ringball League games were played at the Sasol Recreational Club on May 16, with players now turning their attention to the upcoming Mpumalanga Northern Ringball District (MNRD) trials and team announcement.

Sasol Ringball Club faced Stingrays Ringball Club on May 13 in a series of challenging encounters. Sasol’s men’s A team fought hard but eventually lost 30-50 against a strong Stingrays side.

The women’s A team also struggled to keep pace with their opponents and suffered a 22-52 defeat.

There was better news for Sasol’s men’s B team, who secured an exciting and closely contested 32-30 victory after a determined performance.

The women’s B team, however, could not maintain momentum and lost their match 14-24.

The final round of league fixtures took place on May 16 against Phoenix Ringball Club.

Sasol’s men’s A team once again showed determination and resilience but went down 40-50 in another high-scoring clash.

The women’s A team battled throughout the match before losing 18-36.

Sasol’s men’s B team managed to hold Phoenix to a 28-28 draw in a tightly contested encounter, while the women’s B teams also shared the spoils after finishing level at 14-14.

Despite several defeats, players displayed commitment, teamwork and fighting spirit throughout the league season.

Coaches and supporters praised the teams for their dedication and improvement during the campaign.

With the league season now concluded, attention shifts to the MNRD trials, where 16 men and women in different age categories from Sasol participated in the first trials in Middelburg on May 23.
