Secunda elderly group donate goods to the Adullam Missionary
The group's next meeting will be a Father's Day breakfast at Cappuccinos in Secunda Mall on June 24.
Pasta and soup were donated to the Adullam Missionary during the monthly Dra Mekaar meeting held at the NG Kerk Goedehoop Gemeente on June 10.
The morning gathering was opened with a scripture reading and prayer led by Ds Diederich Kleynhans.
Members welcomed guest speaker and Tree-Seeds Foundation founder Liné de Vries, Madaleen Coetzee from the Adullam Missionary and Sonja Koekemoer of the SAVF Child and Youth Care Centre.
De Vries engaged members in an interactive gratitude exercise using Smarties and a colour chart.

Each colour represented something to be thankful for, such as a laugh, a person, a place, food, a talent, a memory, or nature.
Members shared the reasons for choosing their colours and reflected on what they appreciate most.
Visiting from Rwanda, Gail Henstock said she is grateful for her home country, South Africa.
“When you leave your country and see what is on the other side and come back here, you actually realise that, with all that is happening here, we have a beautiful South Africa.

“There is no place like where you were born; there is no place like home. I long for the beat of the African drum,” said Henstock.
Birthday wishes for June were extended to members Maria Meyer, Hendrik Keyser, Sarel Erwee and Barbara Barnsley.
The group’s next meeting will be a Father’s Day breakfast at Cappuccinos in Secunda Mall on June 24.
It will also be the last gathering before the winter break, with meetings resuming on August 5. For more information, contact chairperson Eileen Bezuidenhout on 082 467 5307.
