A severely decomposed body of a white man was retrieved from the Trichardtspruit by Delta 1 Search Rescue today, July 6.

Delta 1 Rescue Diving received the call at around 15:30 of a body that was found in the spruit behind VW MasterCars in Ebrahim Daya Street near the Trichardt pump station.

The circumstances surrounding the discovery remain unclear at this stage.

Emergency services and all relevant role players were on the scene while the body was recovered.

The deceased was transported by forensic pathology services to the government mortuary.

Trichardt police have opened an inquest docket. His identity is unknown at this stage.
