Mpumalanga Junior Foundation is growing
The Mpumalanga Junior Foundation is growing and is in need of funds.
EVANDER – Walker Park Golf Club hosted a fund raising golf day on behalf of the Mpumalanga Junior Golf Foundation on Saturday 12 April.
Tiaan Roets (44 points) won the competition.
With an excellent course and good weather, Tiaan managed to play eight shots better than his 14 handicap.
The Mpumalanga Federation Juniors played the Highveld Open at Walker Park on Sunday, 13 April as part of their busy calendar commitments.
Competing in three different categories, 43 of the top junior golfers in the province battled it out.
The respective category winners are:
A Division: Vian Kruger 141 (3 shots under par).
B Division: Hennie Barwise 160.
C Division: EtteinnePretoruis 43.
Mpumalanga Junior Foundation Committee member Martin van Heerden commented that the federation is growing, but is in desperate need of funds.
He said: “In order to grow the talent of the players they must be exposed to various courses and conditions.
“The cost is high and not all parents can afford it, therefore various fund raising events are necessary.
