Govan Mbeki soccer clubs elect LFA executive members

New executive prepares to uplift local soccer and ensure that development is a top priority.

eMBALENHLE – Soccer clubs affiliated to the Local Football Association (LFA) elected their executive members to run the league for the next four years.

The election took place during an annual general meeting at the Sasol Club on Saturday, 17 May.

Mr Johannes Mahlangu retained his position as the association’s president.

Messrs Bafana Sibeko is the first deputy president and London Mohale is the second deputy president.

Mr Jafter Manuku retained his position as the secretary and his deputy is Mr Joseph Motloung.

Messrs Steven Nkuntha and Muntu Thwala were elected as additional members.

Mr Mahlangu said they are prepared to uplift local soccer and will ensure that development is a top priority.

The clubs that took part in the Kwa-Schebo Promotion League soccer season were awarded prizes worth more than R15 000 during the meeting.

Yizo Yizo FC received a floating trophy and R5 000 for finishing the league with 53 points.

Remember Academy received R2 500, Young Stars R2 000 and Sasol Thistle Grove R1 500.

Junior Celtics FC received R1 000, Premeria FC R900 and Sasol Juventus FC R700.

Mbalenhle United FC received R600, Mighty Spears FC received R500 and West United FC R400.

The U/13 and U/15 promotion league prizes will be handed over at the end of the league.
