Napoli FC from Silobela proved to be too good for Shooters FC when they beat them 1-0 in a two-day top-four winner takes all tournament at Mbombela grounds in Silobela.
The first half ended goalless with both sides threatening each other with a close chance for a lead and Teko Mlangeni penalised with a yellow card in the 31st minute for fouling the Napoli goal-keeper.
The second half got off at a good pace as Napoli made its intentions clear when they launched a series of attacks against Shooters. Their efforts paid off when the captain, Billy “Bravo” Nkambule, was left in the box unmarked and connected with a cross that he comfortably chest-trapped and volleyed into the net, giving Napoli the lead.
Shooters’ middlefield and wingers started playing with a purpose, as they also launched their own attack that saw their strikers missing clear-cut opportunities.
Shooters’ Sibusiso Thela hit the upright when he fired a missile, while Napoli’s Linda Nkosi entertained the crowd with his nifty touches.

The game ended with Napoli’s solitary goal to win the R8 000 cash prise and each player receiving a 12.5kg bag of maize meal from the sponsors, Carolina Rollermeule.
The owner, Mr Chris Roets, said sport is a productive way of giving back to the community.
Tournament organisers Obidient Mhlanga and Nduduzo Jele said they were happy with the standard of football and promised to invite more teams next year for the same tournament where the prices would be even better.
