Coach selects Mpumalanga squad for Safa Championships

eMBALENHLE – Gert Sibande District had its selections for the Mpumalanga region SAB U/21 at eMbalenhle Sasol Club on Saturday, 8 May.

Technical Director Mr Honey Maseko said they are selecting a squad which will represent Mpumalanga during the Safa Championships in Eastern Cape in July.

The selection is from U/13 until U/21 and their birth year should begin from 1994.

Players were from Govan Mbeki, Msukaligwa, Mkhondo and Albert Luthuli municipalities.

“People should not underestimate the Safa Championships because that is where our young players get noticed by PSL,” said Mr Maseko.

Mr Ditheko Marago, regional president of Safa was also part of the Gert Sibande selection.

Altogether 23 players out of 80 players were selected to represent Gert Sibande District during the selection for the Mpumalanga regional squad.
