Remember FC will compete for Motsepe League qualifications

Remember FC play against Lumoja FC during the provincial play-offs at Kinross Sasol Club.

KINROSS – SAFA hosted one of the biggest provincial SAB soccer play-offs at Kinross Sasol Club on Saturday, 16 May.

Eight teams from the Govan Mbeki and Lekwa municipalities were competing for the Gert Sibande pay-offs that take place in Ermelo on Saturday, 6 June.

Two teams from the Ermelo play-offs will qualify for the ABC Motsepe League which was previously known as the Vodacom Promotional League.

Grootvlei All Stars beat PR Barcelona FC 3-0, Flymingo FC beat Zone Mavo 7-6, Sasol Thistle Grove won against Shooters FC 3-2.

Lumoja FC from Ermelo beat Remember FC 2-1 and both teams will be playing in Ermelo against four teams from the district where the two winners will qualify to play in the finals of the provincial play-offs which will qualify the winners to play in the ABC Motsepe League.

Lumoja are the champions of the Gert Sibande SAB League.

During the play-offs in Kinross, four players were selected by Mamelodi Sundowns, a Premier Soccer League team.

The four selected players from Remember FC are Bafana Dlamini, Bongani Shabangu, Sboniso Mkhwanazi and Nhlanhla Masina.

They are selected for the final assessment of Mamelodi Sundowns.

Eight players from Remember FC were also selected to represent Gert Sibande District during the selections for the Mpumalanga team that will play during the Safa Championships in the Eastern Cape in July.
