Bright future awaits Ashley

At the end of the tournament he was named Bowler of the tournament.

BETHAL – Ashley Methula, a player from Bethal Bears Cricket Club, has been a permanent fixture in the Mpumalanga Senior Provincial side over the past three years.

He recently represented Mpumalanga at the Cricket South Africa Rural Cricket Tournament held in Cape Town.

Mpumalanga had mixed results throughout the tournament, but Ashley excelled with the ball in his hand.

At the end of the tournament, he was named Bowler of the Tournament.

The CSA Rural team, formerly the South African Country District, team was announced at the end of the week and Ashley was selected for the team.

The team will take part in National Clubs Week and will also tour later this year.

“We are very proud of Ashley for earning national colours and wish him the best of luck for the rest of the season,” said Mr Leon Parsons, chairman of the Bethal Bears.
