Promotional League draws to an end
The winners of the league, Skills Academy, will be handed the much deserved trophy
Juventus was victorious with 1 – 0 in the last match of the Promotion League against Classic at the Stanton Ground on 6 May.
With a fast-paced style, both teams who were evenly matched, wanted to end the season on a high note.
The match was not short of clear-cut scoring opportunities for both teams, but the finishing left much to be desired.
Goalkeepers had to work hard to save teams from embarrassment.
In the 65th minute, a Classics player, who was already on a booking, got his marching orders from the referee for a dangerous tackle.
Juventus made their one man advantage count by attacking non-stop on the Classic goal. Just when the game looked like it would end in a beautiful draw, Classic conceded a penalty in the 79th minute after many lost chances,
Juventus was not going to miss this penalty and Sifiso Thwala scored from the spot to give Juventus the lead.
After the goal, Classic was on the back foot for the rest of the match, which meant Juventus was fourth on the standings, while Classic remained ninth.
