Fighters from Dominators Den excel at No-Gi grapling event

Hendrik (Beast) van der Merwe and Cedric (The Dominator) Doyle win gold medals.

Five fighters from Dominators Den in Secunda performed well in another round of the No-Gi grapling event at the Germinston Fights Star 27 on 2 December.

Gi and No-Gi are the two forms of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Gi Jiu Jitsu is grappling with the use of a traditional Gi which allows you to grab the clothing of your opponent.

No-Gi is grappling without the traditional uniform, instead you wear shorts and a rash guard.

In No-Gi you cannot grab your opponent’s clothing.

Hendrik (Beast) van der Merwe and Cedric (The Dominator) Doyle won gold medals.

Sias (The Psycho) du Toit and Vincent (The Majesty) Nkosi both won silver medals.

Stefan Diedericks also competed and performed well.

Paul (Piksteel) Ronge competed in a mixed martial arts fight and lost the fight with a split decision.

His coach, The Dominator, said Paul performed well and learned a lot.

He also said Paul will come back stronger.
