Dancers from Julie-Ann’s School of Dance in Evander obtains Mpumalanga colours

Lana Te Water was the overall senior winner for the year, with Ilze-Mari Homan as runner-up and Chanelle Markgraaff in third place.

EVANDER – Many dancers from Julie-Ann’s School of Dance obtained their Mpumalanga federation colours.

The dance school recently hosted a competition where the federation colours were at stake.

Lana Te Water was the overall senior winner for the year, with Ilze-Mari Homan as runner-up and Chanelle Markgraaff in third place.

This year’s overall junior winner is Una Ntshani. Kaylene Balmakund is second and Kaylee Jordaan third.

The winners of the respective age categories are Sunelle Grundling (three to six years), Una Ntshani (seven to 10 years), Lana Te Water (11 to 14 years) and Chanelle Markgraaff (15 to 18 years).

The respective style winners are Ilze-Mari Homan for modern dancing and disco, Lana Te Water for acrobatics and freestyle, and Chanelle Markgraaff for hip hop and contemporary dance.

The dancers had to obtain 85 per cent or higher marks in their dance exams to qualify for their Mpumalanga federation colours.

The dancers who achieved this, are Janica Grobler, Hailey van den Berg, Ilze-Mari Homan, Mia Grobler, Una Ntshani, Lana Te Water, Lerika Bronkhorst, Dyaz Ward, Chanelle Markgraaff, Sihle Baloyi, Gizelle Botes, Anjanay Rothquel, Kaylee Jordaan, Hanelda Pienaar, Carla Bronkhorst, Jane Janse van Rensburg, Tshepang Madingoane, Elzaan Bezuidenhout, Sune Pretorius, Ntsako Baloyi, Sunelle Grundling, Kiarah Fourie, Jadri Bezuidnhout and Kaylene Balmakund.
