Bronkhorstspruit’s 8-year-old Lion of Africa on his way to play in Australia

“Three eagles at the age of eight and his eyes are fixed on that hole in one.”

Vezukuhle Ngcobo, an-eight-year-old Ndaba Christian Academy homeschool learner from Riamar Park in Bronkhorstspruit will represent South Africa in Australia in April.

This little boy known by some as “the Lion of Africa”, recently competed in the Africa Championship in KwaZulu-Natal against 140 players and was the runner up at the tournament for SA kids Golf.

This achievement qualified him to participate in the Australian Junior Age Division Golf Championship from April 5 to 8 at the RACV Royal Pines Resort, Queensland.

He was also chosen in February as the South African champion to represent the country at the world championships after he competed against 140 kids at the world champs qualifier in a two day tournament in Huddle Park.

Vezukuhle is Bronkhorstspruit’s pride and made a name for himself on the golf course at such a young age.

He has achieved three eagles in his short career and he made history.

“He got two eagles in one game. It is an outstanding score on a hole,” his father, Nathi said.

Vezukuhle competed all over the country and was rewarded with gold and silver trophies.

This talented golfer and his father nurture his natural talent and spend every day on the golf course to invest hours of preparation for the upcoming tournaments.
