Tiny Tiger- and Avengers tournaments bring Cullinan and Rayton talent to the floor
There were 59 participants and they competed in patterns, weapon patterns, point sparing, weapon sparing and nunchuku patterns.
Both the Cullinan and Rayton Taekwon-Do clubs participated in the Tiny Tiger- and Avengers tournaments hosted by the Acestes Taekwon-Do Clubs. (ATC).
The tournaments took place on Saturday, December 3 at the Cullinan Petra Mines’ community sports centre.
“Both the Tiny Tiger and Avengers tournaments ran simultaneously on the day, beginning at 08:00 and finishing at 16:00, making this event longer than usual with the added-on activities of nunchaku patterns,” said Bsb, Justin Collett.
There were 59 participants and they competed in patterns, weapon patterns, point sparing, weapon sparing and nunchaku patterns.
By the afternoon, the tournament finished off with special techniques such as kicking a board to break it at a set height and board breaking with different techniques.
Altogether 19 participants from Cullinan in the Tiny Tiger tournament earned six gold medals, eight silver medals and five bronze medals.
One participant from Rayton earned a bronze medal.
During the Avengers tournament, 37 Cullinan members competed which resulted in 11 gold medals, 12 silver medals and 14 bronze medals. The club from Rayton had four competitors who took home one silver and three bronze medals.
“Everyone did exceptionally well. We are looking forward to the next tournament where we will be adding nunchaku point sparing,” Collet added.
