51 Participants tackle the Standerton parkrun

Altogether 51 participants took on the parkrun on June 17 and were out of the blocks by 08:00 Standerton River Parks hosts this free event, giving ample opportunity for exercise whether running, jogging or walking.

Six athletes improved their times.



Bongane Mbokane crossed the finish line in a new personal best of 18:53, followed by Mthokozisi Tshwala in 19:54.

Daniel Roberts registered a time of 23:28, a personal best, while Omran Marzugi also improved his time and recorded 23:54.

Jacques Ferreira came in at 24:40, while Parth Jayram competed in his 50th event in a time of 26:04.



Andiswamahlube Hadebe ended the distance in 27:48, Thikolelwi Mudau in his 50th recorded 27:52, Chrizell Roberts in her 50th as well, registered 33:08 and Johan Bouillon 33:41.

Andrew Ainsworth came in at 34:22, Teresa Schoonraad in 35:54 and Nombuso Siwela in 37:25, a new personal best.

The parkrun is made possible by volunteers and Elmien Vermaak, Elna Vermaak, Frans Vermaak, Johannes Vosloo, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Jean Robertson, Ruwan Vermaak, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Sylvy Moodley and Zeldine Strydom ensured a safe and smooth event.
