90 participants enjoy Standerton parkrun #371

90 participants took part in the 5km Riverpark parkrun on Saturday.

A total of 90 parkrunners walked, jogged and ran the 5km River Park route during Standerton parkrun event number 371. Noah Godfrey led the men’s field, crossing the finish line in 19:58.

Justin Godfrey followed in 20:46, while Ayanda Dlamini secured third place in 25:21. The women’s event saw Carike Snyman claim first place with a personal best time of 27:10.

Elihle Zikalala finished second in 27:37, and Patricia Mudau completed the top three in 31:38.

Event organisers thanked the volunteers who made the morning possible: Charl van Wyk, Daniel Wright, Frans Vermaak, Koos Grobler, Leandri van Wyk, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Lydia Roets, Marietjie Wolmarans, Marion Jean Robertson, Nadine Hoop, Séan Jansen van Rensburg and Susan Laufs.

Standerton parkrun takes place every Saturday at 8:00 at River Park, on the corner of Handel and Buiten streets.

The weekly 5km event is free to enter. Participants need to register once and bring their personal barcode to each event.

Runners, walkers, and joggers of all ages and fitness levels are welcome, and four-legged companions are welcome too.
