Vehicles burn at Delmas Police Station

The VKLM Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire, but not before two vehicles, a navy blue BMW and a Toyota Avanza were partially destroyed in the flames.

The VKLM Fire Department was summoned to a fire at the Delmas Police Station on Saturday, Septrmber 4.

The detective on standby duty, Capt John Mothupi noticed a fire at the station that day.

He then contacted management to inform them about the fire in the Delmas Police Station’s 13 camp where impounded vehicles involved in investigations are stored.

During further investigation, it was found that the fire might have erupted outside the police 13 camp yard towards the back of the police station premises.

The VKLM Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire, but not before two vehicles, a navy blue BMW and a Toyota Avanza were partially destroyed in the flames.

According to Capt Carla Hartley, corporate communication officer for Delmas Police, the cause of the fire is unknown and is it uncertain whether the fire was started deliberately or accidental.
