Suspect card scammers arrested by Delmas SAPS
A suspect white VW Polo was spotted at the Dwarsfontein off ramp on the N12 Freeway was spotted and pulled over. A search of the vehicle was conducted and two Point-of-Service (POS) were discovered hidden under the bonnet, inside the engine.
An informer contacted the Delmas Police on a suspected case of card scamming at the Petroport Garage on the N12 Freeway.
Members of Delmas Police responded to the information on September 19 at around 13:48 about a white VW Polo that is possibly involved in card scamming.
The vehicle was spotted at the Dwarsfontein off-ramp and was pulled over.
“A search of the vehicle was conducted and two Point-of-Service (POS) were discovered hidden under the bonnet, inside the engine of the VW Polo,” Col Sipho Sithole, station commander of
Delmas Police, said in a media statement released on September 18.
Clothes and different bankcards in the possession of the suspects were also confiscated.
A case was opened under the Electronic and Communication Act, Act 25 of 2002 Sec 86(1) and Sec 86(3) and the suspects were detained at Delmas Police Station.
