Liquor outlets must comply or face the law

The Pretoria-Cullinan Police urgently calls for compliance of all liquor outlets around Cullinan area. Should any liquor outlet be found not complying with the Liquor Act, the owner will face the law and account for non-compliance.

The Cullinan Police recently noticed with great concern how non-compliant liquor outlets contribute to the crimes occurring in the area. The Police therefore made it clear to that that they will take steps against any liquor outlet that is not complying to Gauteng Liquor Act no. 2 of 2003.

The Pretoria-Cullinan Police urgently calls for compliance of all liquor outlets around Cullinan area:
Liquor outlets must close in time.
No under age customer should be allowed at the liquor premises.

“Not only is underage drinking illegal, but The National Liquor Act (2003) says that no one may supply liquor to minors,” Const Connie Moganedi, Cullinan Police corporate communication officer said in a media statement released on September 27.

Parents are also urged to know their children’s whereabouts and report any liquor outlets that allow children entry to the premises.

Should any liquor outlet be found not complying with the Liquor Act, the owner will face the law and account for non-compliance.
