Gospel group’s music uplifts

Gospel Alive Intimate Worship Night takes place at GNF City Church in Secunda.

SECUNDA – Heavenly Trumpets Gospel Group will be performing for their fans at the Gospel Alive Intimate Worship Night at the GNF City Church on Saturday evening, 29 March.

They will be supported by Kinross AGCI, Lamentation Gospel Group, GNF City Church Worship Team and House of Praise.

The group was established on 2 February 2008 and began with seven members: Lessly Stock, Rethabile Nobatyi, Hilda Malebe, Lucky Malebe, Tshepo Makofane, Gabisile Mhlongo and the late Thobile Nkambule.

It performed at funerals and weddings to introduce themselves to the residents of the Govan Mbeki municipal area at that time.

The group has grown to 20 members and a five-member band that includes a pianist, accompanying organ, drum mist, lead guitarist and a bass guitarist.

“We thank God and are grateful for the opportunity which we have in preaching the gospel of Christ Jesus of Nazareth.

“As a local band with minimum exposure and the desire to be the best gospel group representing the Govan Mbeki municipal area, we are faced with quiet a number of challenges.

“To God be the glory, we have already made and released our first live DVD in 2010 and we are embarking on the second project of Live DVD 2,” said Mr Unathi Mbanga, liaison officer and marketing director of Mama Patience Youth Development Care Centre.

He pleads with people to support the project.

They are also in need of their own musical instruments.

Entrance is R30 and R15 for children under 12 years.

Contact Mr Mbanga at 082 256 6494.
