Drian wants to bring the title of Mr South Africa to Secunda
SECUNDA – Drian Maree is one of the top 50 finalists in the Mr South Africa 2014 Competition that will be featured on national television channel e.tv and is hoping to walk away with the prestigious title in December.
Maree (21) loves the outdoors and spending time with his friends.
When he is not in the gym, he works as a Sasol mining employee.
“I set high goals for myself, but at the same time I am a firm believer in a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
“I also believe that it is important to stay grounded and my relationship with God is one of the most important aspects of my life.”
He has been modelling since the age of 19 and views Mr SA as an opportunity and platform to positively influence a great number of people.
“Without the training and support from Ultimate Glamour Models & Promotions, I would not have made it so far.
“They are not only my modelling team, but also my family when I need support.”
Maree supports the J9 Joost van der Westhuizen Foundation in his journey as a Mr SA contestant and is looking for sponsors.
The search for the new Mr South Africa 2014 officially kicked off on 15 March when the contestants gathered for the first workshop that was held in Pretoria.
The organisers made it clear from the beginning that they are not looking for a mere male model, but rather a model male.
Mr SA owner and organiser, Mr Rudi Baker, described the initiative as setting a new standard for the country’s entertainment industry.
He said: “My vision for a Mr South Africa is a person who exhibits qualities that set him apart from the average man.
“Looks and a healthy physique are very important, but a person’s character is more so.”
“The winner must definitely be someone with these qualities and a true ambassador for young and old,” Mr Baker said.
To vote for Maree, SMS MR SA followed by the contestant number 113 to 47439.
An SMS costs R3.
