Mpho Moloka is working on an educational film
Mpho needs financial support to continue with his radio station.
Mpho Moloka from eMbalenhle is a man of many talents and has dedicated his life to the upliftment of the local youth and talents.
He is passionate about seeing the youth rising above their present circumstance and realising their God-given talents.
Mpho is a cartoonist, singer, songwriter, producer, sound engineer and photographer.
He does all this without any formal qualification, but his passion and positive drive for life led him into mastering these skills.
He established his company and studio in 2012 and since then many artists have recorded under his record label.
Since its inception, the company has grown and now has an Internet radio station as well.
However Mpho is facing serious financial challenges.
“I strongly believe Govan Mbeki Municipality needs a radio station, because there is so much going on in this area that needs to be broadcasted.
“Obtaining a licence for a local radio station is difficult.
“We tried and Icasa told us someone already has a licence, so it could not be granted to us.
“That is why I opted for the Internet radio station, but it is very expensive to maintain.
“We have stopped for a while to raise funds, but we are currently busy with another big project.”
Mpho and his team are currently working on filming a movie, Imvume.
The whole cast comprises local youths.
The movie is about the challenges that the local youth face, especially drug abuse.
The first episode mainly focuses on the life of Nyaope addicts and the difficulties that their parents face.
Two of the actors are Nyaope addicts.
“There is a stigma about these guys and the community is side lining them, hence we thought to involve them in this project.
“The two actors are extremely talented and I believe that being part of the film will contribute positively to their lives.
“The film is educational and raises awareness about drugs.”
Mpho said the movie will have several episodes and will be more like a series which reflects real life issues in municipal area.
He aims at training the youth and to transfer his skills to others.
Mpho urged local companies to remember the local youth and to invest and support their projects.
