History is but an echo of itself
I often reflect on the saying, history repeats itself, but does it or does it merely echo?
And so the holidays draw to an end and we need to adapt to a new year with new challenges and new opportunities.
Time to put on your big boy/girl pants and get back to work.
If you are anything like me, the biggest challenge is not kicking your bad habits, rising before the sun does or powering through new year’s resolutions, but rather getting to the point where you’ve finally figured out that the 7 of 2017 is now history.
Prepare for the “Haven’t seen you since last year,” jokes and being bombarded with questions about your New Year’s resolutions and a few more of the usuals that we’ve grown accustomed to year in, year out.
So, are you prepped for the new year? Are you going to succeed in becoming successfully successful or is 2018 just a new number?
I often reflect on the saying, history repeats itself, but does it or does it merely echo?
In the words of Samuel Clemens a.k.a. Mark Twain, American writer and humourist: “History doesn’t repeat itself but it often rhymes.”
For those who do not quite grasp the statement, history is never the same twice, but if you want to repeat an experience you may have enjoyed, the route back will not be an exact match, however the location or outcome sought will be the same.
Have you decided what your outcome will be this year or are you leaving everything to chance?
I once attended a seminar where it was said that if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
And for me this rings true.
Never have I embarked on a journey without proper planning.
Decide where your destination will be this year, set out achievable goals and plan to accomplish them.
If history has taught us anything, it is that passion and a desire coupled with planning and hard work, almost always pay off.
My wish for all our readers and clients are that you have a prosperous and historical 2017! Yes, I know, 2018!
