Models compete for Miss eKasi title
This year’s pageant has three categories, namely Miss Teen eKasi, Plus Teen eKasi and Thee Hunk eKasi.
HIGHVELD – Local teens are gearing up for the 2018 Miss Teen eKasi Beauty Pageant that will be hosted at the Johannes Stegmann Theatre on Saturday, 7 July.
It begins at 3pm and tickets cost R100 (general), R150 (VIP) and R200 (VVIP).
This year’s pageant has three categories, namely Miss Teen eKasi, Plus Teen eKasi and Thee Hunk eKasi.
Mr Thando Kobese, organiser, said the event is aimed at showcasing local talent and to keep the youth off the street.
“We established this pageant to give a platform to teens for their vision of going into modelling.
“We recruit the girls and boys to be part of modelling through the Aspiring Models Agency.
“Aspiring Models is an agency that grooms all young stars who are ‘wanna be’ models.
“We believe that beauty is not only about body size, hence we cater for all sizes.”
Speaking about the pageant, one of the finalists, Nomfundo Mthethwa, from Bethal, said the pageant plays a pivotal role in the lives of young people.
“I urge people from all over Mpumalanga to come and support this good initiative.”
Thando Radebe, from Kinross, said the Miss Teen ekasi Pageant helps to market local talent.
“It inspires the youth to take their place in society and to showcase their talent and build self-esteem.
“My wish is that the youth become aware of this pageant and join in, because it teaches us the importance of being patient and of a good character.”
Skhanda Gee Mbatha and Ntombo are the programme directors.
Local artists such as Vukani, Tee M Bee, DJ Zweli, DJ Billy, Africn Child Dancers, Davince Vee, Channelle Queen, Crazy Sjebha Boiz, and many others will perform.
