EVANDER – Lolo Mokoane, also known as Abuti Lolo, has been described by his fans as the perfect man to come to any function to ensure it is fun.

He is a local, hilarious and exciting comedian and MC.

His fans have dubbed him Ubumnandi Distributor, which means the distributor of fun

Mokoane has the ability to connect with different crowds and to ensure that events flow smoothly.

He is an award-nominated comedian who tells some of his life stories through comedy, while taking a jab at current affairs and social issues that are close to his heart.

He has also taken part in the “Savanna Newcomer” show in May 2018.

“I believe life is very tricky, it has its ups and downs, but when an opportunity to have fun presents itself, one should always grab it with both hands because you never know whose life is about to change forever.

“My biggest desire is to be able to tell my truth and to have people feel comfortable about themselves through laughing at me and the pain that I have encountered while growing up.”

Mokoane was born and bred in Evander and went to TP Stratten Primary School and matriculated at Hoërskool Evander.

He then studied electrical engineering at TUT and graduated earlier this year.

His first stand-up comedy was performed in December 2016 after a friend had “forced” him to do so, because he believed he could be good.

“I don’t think I was nervous doing my first stand-up performance, because I really had nothing to lose at that stage.

“No one could have expected anything because I was not a comedian, as opposed to when I had to get up on my first big stage performance at the Soweto Theatre earlier this year.

“That was scary because I was not even sure that I was ready enough.“So when I realised that I have the ability, I grabbed it with both hands.”

Mokoane has performed alongside other comedians, such as David Kau, Jason Goliath, Elton Mduduzi, Celeste Ntuli, Mashabela Galane and Trevor Gumbi.

His aim is to become a household brand in South Africa in the next five years and to be a comedian that has performed on international platforms.

He was nominated for the Chatz Connect Audience Choice Award at this year’s Comic’s Choice Awards.
